How will it work and what will it cost ?

Firstly we need a complete list of the properties concerned detailing the property type, size, age and postcode. From this we will prepare a quote for conducting the surveys. Obviously it is difficult to say exactly what it will cost until we have and a clear indication of the number, type and location of the. Assuming the quote is acceptable we would require you to inform all of the residents of the fact that we will be contacting them to. After we have conducted the surveys we will give you a report by property detailing your current efficiency and what measures we. Energy Saving. World has access to funding to improve the energy efficiency of residential properties both privately rented and owner. Energy Saving World after gathering the information from the survey assesses a route of funding, which improves the energy efficiency. The objective is to make your property as energy efficient as possible and to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions that it generates into the atmosphere. You then decide what measures you wish to take and instruct accordingly.

In our experience the average savings that can be easily achieved through implementing simple low cost measures can be as much as. Unlike the house purchasing market, we believe that EPC’s will have a large influence in the Rental Market, in particular in relation to chargeable rents. If you have two similar properties on the market but with dramatically different energy ratings the consumer is being given a direct guide as to the differential in likely running costs between the two properties. We believe that this will have a direct bearing on the potential  rent obtained.20% per annum, meaning that the payback on say £100 worth of product could be as little as eight months.** of the property at a much lower cost and in many cases at no cost at all. occupied. Any property that would benefit from improved insulation and heating, qualifies for a grant. The grants are funded from many sources Utilities, Councils, Government etc and sometimes Manufacturers. recommend are taken in order to improve that efficiency/rating before we complete the EPC. arrange a date & time to conduct the surveys. This means that you don’t have to go to all the bother of matching appointments on certain days etc, we do all that work. properties involved. We are sure that you will understand that the work involved will vary by property size and by age of property, however we can say that a typical portfolio of around 20 properties consisting of a mix of 2, 3 & 4 beds, flats and houses is working out in the region of £100 per property for the survey and the final EPC.

Here are some examples of savings from the Energy Saving Trust, for more information go to our links page.

Cavity wall insulation

Around a third of all the heat lost in an un-insulated home is lost through the walls. Cavity wall insulation is a fantastic way to significantly reduce the amount of energy you need to heat your home and could save you around £90 a year on your fuel bills.

Loft Insulation

Insulating your loft could save you around £110 per year on your energy bills. If everyone in the UK topped up their loft insulation to 270mm, £380m would be saved each year!

Double Glazing

Double glazing cuts heat lost through windows by half and can save £80 - £100 a year on your heating bills. Double glazing works by trapping air between two panes of glass creating an insulating barrier that reduces heat loss, noise and condensation.
